Park City/Summit
County is located in the Wasatch
Mountains area of the Rocky Mountain
Range. Park City is located 36
miles east of Salt Lake City International
Airport and only 30 miles east
of Salt Lake City via a six lane
inerstate highway (I-80).
Summit
County is located directly east
of Salt Lake City in a geographic
area known as the "Wasatch
Back" - referring to the
backside of the Wasatch Mountains.
Occupying a landmass of 1,871
square miles, it is home for more
than an estimated 34,000 people
Park City is the center of the
county's population, containing
within its boundaries 25 percent
of the total. Other major cities
(Coalville, Kamas, Oakley and
Henefer) house an additional 24
percent. The Snyderville Basin
(an area adjacent to Park City)
is home for approximately 34 percent
of county residents.
